Queensbury - 3 & 4 Cuthbert’s Close
Registered Nursing Home
The service at 3 & 4 Cuthbert’s Close provides 24-hour nursing care and support for eight people with learning disabilities and needs that challenge services. The atmosphere is relaxed and homely, and people living here are encouraged and enabled to make their own choices in all aspects of their lives.
Accommodation
The two homes, which opened in 2005, are purpose built to an extremely high specification and each has four bedrooms, all of which are en-suite. They are decorated and equipped to a high standard throughout. Their design was based on the advice and suggestions not only from the statutory bodies with whom we work in partnership, but also from people who use the services and their carers.
Individuals are encouraged to bring with them personal belongings, and bedrooms are decorated to personal choice. There are comfortable, well-furnished lounge, dining and kitchen areas, and a pleasant patio.
Location
Situated in the village of Queensbury, which is on the outskirts of the city of Bradford, the homes are ideally located within easy reach of the amenities the village and city have to offer. Each person is supported to access a wide variety of leisure and social activities including theatres, restaurants, shopping malls, sports centres, annual holidays, mini-breaks and local community facilities.
Medical and Nursing Needs
Individuals’ medical and nursing needs are met through the support team consisting of qualified nurses, committed and appropriately-trained support staff and general practitioners and consultants.
Additional needs can be met by the following support network: physiotherapists, district nurses, dentists, social workers, chiropodists, speech therapists, community team for learning disabilities and Brothers of the Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God.
