Supporting Religious Orders and Congregations in the care of their elderly.
Saint John of God Religious Management Services was founded to respond to the issues facing many Religious Orders and Congregations today, particularly in relation to the increasing age and care needs of our elderly Religious, working with lay staff and the implications of new care standard legislation.
The objectives of the service are to support Religious Orders and Congregations in the care of their elderly Religious and the management of their care homes and convents. This work is underpinned by our commitment to work with each individual Order or Congregation to maintain the charism and founding ethos of that particular Religious organisation.
Saint John of God Management Services recognises that each individual organisation’s needs are unique and therefore will discuss costs on an individual basis.
Our services include:
- General Management Support - regular visits to support; manager recruitment, appointment and competence within the role for that congregation.
- Evaluation and Strategy Support - assessment of needs of people requiring care; optimising use of the building for the agreed purpose and guidance in management strategies.
- Consultancy and Advice Services - supporting thorough consultation; identification of ways forward; advice provided to enable service to grow and develop.
- Training and Human Resources Support - in-house and telephone advice for human resources; in-house training.
- Policies and Procedures - supporting the development of an up to date system where policies and procedures are formulated and reviewed annually.
- Advice on legislation - including the Care Standards Act where appropriate for registered facilities or as a minimum standard for any Order.
- Full Management Services - where Saint John of God Management Services source and recruit the complete staff team, or take over employment of existing staff teams, and manage the whole service and staff team.
- Publications, publicity and web material - resources to assist with production of literature and publicity material
We currently support twenty-two communities in England, Wales and Ireland, having eight services that we fully manage.
Saint John of God Religious Mangement Services are a part of Saint John of God Hospitaller Services, a registered charity, which provides a range of health, socialcare and pastoral services that support in excess of 1000 people in 50 projects throughout Great Britain.
