Supported Living Services - Enfield

The Charity's supported living services in Enfield provide people with a home of their own and support they require to sustain it.

Introduction
The service is for adults who have a learning disability, are in housing need or are inappropriately housed, live within the Borough of Enfield, are able to take their own medication or have other help to do this.  The housing currently available consists of self-contained properties dispersed within the Borough of Enfield. These properties are owned by the London Borough of Enfield and leased to the Charity.

Support
Support includes:

Encouraging individuals to actively prepare meals and to look after their home appropriately, ensuring health and safety requirements are met, and any faults or repairs are reported immediately.

Helping people apply for benefit entitlements and manage their finances to pay household bills and rent.

Encouraging individuals to link in with their local community resources, support to promote social inclusion and the confidence to engage in a rewarding or fulfilling activity such as a part time college course or voluntary work.

Encouraging individuals to maintain their physical and mental health, manage their medication independently and keep to medical and other necessary appointments.

Properties include a 24-hour link to the local Community Alarm Team who can contact a member of staff on-call for support with medical or housing emergencies.

Cost
Supported Living Services are currently funded by the London Borough of Enfield, Supporting People.  People who use the service are supported to apply for the necessary housing related benefits and need to make individual rent contributions.

Support Team
Committed and appropriately trained staff and Brothers of the Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God.

The aim of the service is to help individuals to attain personal goals, achive desired outcomes and realise their potential.
