The Minims, Hatfield
Residential Care Home
The Minims provide accommodation and 24-hour care and support for twelve adults with learning disabilities within two separate six-bedroomed bungalows in Hatfield. Most importantly, these are not just places to live, but are truly homes, and people living there are encouraged and enabled to make their own choices and decisions in as many aspects of their lives as possible.
Introduction
The people who use this service maintain regular contact with social services, and access doctors, chiropodists, opticians, dentists and hairdressers in the community on an individual basis. Strong community links are developed, with some people attending church. Access to local colleges is encouraged and clients are able to access Saint John of God Care Services' Leisure, Education and Occupational Outreach Service.
Location
Situated in a pleasant residential area in Hatfield, the bungalows are ideally located within easy reach of the amenities the town has to offer. These include shops, a cinema, theatre, community centres, library, and other leisure facilities.

Accommodation
The two bungalows have been well-designed to meet the needs of the residents. Opened in 1992, each has six bedrooms, all of which are en-suite. All rooms have television points. The bungalows each have a large, airy conservatory and comfortable, well-furnished lounge, dining and kitchen areas.
