Residential Care Service
The service at Beach Road in South Shields provides 24-hour care and support for four adults with learning disabilities. Most importantly this is not just a place to live, but it is truly a home and the people living here are encouraged and enabled to make their own choices and decisions in as many aspects of their lives as possible.

Introduction
People who use this service maintain regular contact with social services, and access doctors, chiropodists, opticians, dentists and hairdressers in the community on an individual basis. Strong community links are developed and access to the local colleges is encouraged.

Location
Situated in a pleasant residential area in South Shields, the home is ideally located within easy reach of the amenities the town has to offer, as well as the beach. These include shops, community centre, library and other leisure facilities. The staff team support residents to access these and a wide range of social activities such as line-dancing, carpet bowling and theatre trips.

Accommodation
Beach Road is a large, terraced town house with four bedrooms, all of which are single occupancy.The house has comfortable, well-furnished lounge, dining and kitchen areas. Residents are encouraged to bring with them personal belongings, and their bedrooms will be decorated to their choice.

Support Team
Committed and appropriately-trained support staff and Brothers of the Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God.
